Poughkeepsie Man Busted For 21 License Suspensions, Heroin, Mushrooms

New York State Police busted a Poughkeepsie man Friday on multiple drug charges during a traffic stop where troopers discovered he had 21 suspensions on his driver's license.

Stanley J. Williams III, 29, was stopped around 12:48 a.m. on Montgomery Street in the City of Poughkeepsie for a traffic violation, said Trooper AJ Hicks.

Besides the 21 suspensions, troopers also found heroin, psilocybin hallucinogenic mushrooms, and marijuana inside the vehicle, Hicks said.

He was charged with several counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, state police said,

Williams was sent to the Dutchess County Jail where he is being held without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
